The governance of the APSAM is based on 4 bodies:

The General Assembly

The supreme decision-making body of APSAM, the GA meets in ordinary sessions at least twice a year to:

  • The approval of the accounts and reports,
  • L'adoption du budget.

It elects the APSAM Bureau and the Presidents of the Technical Commissions once every 2 years. The GA is composed of the CEOs of the member companies.

Board

Board of 5 members It is composed of a President, 3 Vice-Presidents and a General Treasurer. The term of office of the Bureau is 2 years, renewable.
The Board has the broadest powers for the administration and management of APSAM's affairs as well as for the execution of the decisions of the GMs.
Since November 2024, the APSAM Bureau is as follows:
  • President : Abdrahamane KOUYATE
  • 1st Vice-President: Mme CISSE Adam BA
  • 2nd Vice-President of the Non-Life Karim SANOGO
  • 2nd Vice-President of the Life Corneille SANON
  • Treasurer General: Mme Kadiatou KONE.

An Executive Secretariat

The Bureau is assisted in its tasks by an executive secretariat headed by an Executive Secretary who manages the personnel and administers all the services of the permanent secretariat of the APSAM.
The Executive Secretary is an ex officio member of all Technical Commissions and, as such, coordinates all Commission activities. Since October 2020, the Executive Secretary has been Mr. Tidiane DIARRA.

Technical Committees

The Board relies on the technical commissions created for this purpose to resolve technical and specific problems.
APSAM currently has 10 active technical commissions.

Representativeness

APSAM is a member of several organizations.

Nationally

  • The Economic, Social and Cultural Council;
  • The National Council of Employers of Mali (CNPM).

Internationally

  • The Inter-African Conference of Insurance Markets (CIMA)
  • The African Insurance Organization (AIO)
  • The Federation of African National Law Insurance Companies (FANAF).
