Civil Liability Insurance

Liability insurance covers damage caused to others by the insured, whether accidentally, unintentionally, or through negligence. Liability insurance can be personal, professional, or activity-related. The goal is to compensate the victim for bodily injury, property damage, or non-material damage suffered.
Main types of RC:
  • RC private life: covers damages caused by you, your children, your domestic employees or your animals to third parties.
  • Professional liability insurance: protects businesses, artisans, or liberal professions against faults or errors in the exercise of their activity.
  • RC locative: for damage caused by a tenant in a rented dwelling.
  • School insurance: for damage caused by or suffered by a student.
  • Event organizer's liability insurance: covers incidents during a public or private event.
Concrete examples:
  • Your child breaks the neighbor's window while playing.
  • A company negligently causes a fire in a neighboring building.
  • A customer slips in a poorly maintained store.
It is sometimes included in other contracts (home, auto...) or taken out separately depending on the needs.
